Impact Systems - the Solution
Migration Analysis is intended to provide our customers with guidance and direction in assessing the options and associated effort of migrating their existing content management system solution into the suite of functionality and scalability offered
through the new content management system environment. We provide review assessment and reporting activities designed to tailor a migration planning process to our customer’s specific business needs and technical requirements, including:
- Technical Implementation Review – of specifications and existing application functionality to determine the details of the current technical environment and application implementation
- Functionality Gap Analysis – a review of the customer’s current usage and
requirements against the existing application and the new content management system functionality
- Architecture and Functionality Mapping – to identify target platform and solution technologies for existing configurations and customizations
- Migration Analysis Documentation – presentation of detailed analysis findings, including migration strategy, functionality mapping, tactical preparation and execution activities
- Migration Delivery Planning – preparation of a detailed description, cost estimate and execution timetable for the delivery of consulting services to support the content management system migration.
Quality Controlled Implementation is performed using our unique software tools developed through years of experience and our specialist teams with the necessary domain expertise to tackle even the most complex regulatory compliance systems. These are the key steps in performing a successful controlled migration:
- Content Export process defined and tested with sample documents – Q-Tran™ will be modified, tested and validated by customer based on vendor requirements to support a complete migration effort.
- Meta data consolidation, cleansing scripts defined, developed, tested and validated – Scripts will be provided for the transformation and consolidation of meta data that may be distributed across disparate data sources.
- Content cleansing rules defined and scripts developed – Identification of all content cleansing rules to be applied to the migrating content. Examples include: removal of page headers/footers, resizing margins, replacing reference numbers and insertion of hyperlinks.
- Cleansed content validated and imported – For each of the migrating sites, document "sets" will be migrated into a development environment for review and acceptance .
- Content linking scripts developed and tested – For related documents, test and validate scripts will be developed to create links accessible via the "Relationship Manager" feature.
- Migration process/plan developed for each site – A migration procedure for each site will be developed, including site sequencing dependencies.
- Migration Process validation documentation assembled/created – A migration qualification plan will be authored that indicates the software, processes and steps to be performed that will assure quality migrations from source to target.
- Proposed ‘Roadmap’ Project Plan – Impact Systems will provide a detailed Project Plan representing the subsequent phases of the project with tools and proven best practices.
